The Strategy Evaluation Protocol 2021-2027
The Strategy Evaluation Protocol (SEP) for 2021-2027 (PDF) was established by the VSNU, the NWO and the KNAW. This six-year cycle is used to evaluate the quality, relevance and viability of research in public institutions in the Netherlands.
The evaluation is centred on the research unit’s self-identified goals and strategy. The SEP is a flexible instrument, intended to maximise the benefits of research evaluations with minimal effort.
Research units can themselves determine which indicators they consider appropriate to evaluate their own research.
