Description
A lecture (or paper) written by one or more researchers and presented at a research conference that is regarded as being very important for communication between researchers.
Explanation
It is not (yet) possible to assess lectures and any associated papers using authorised lists. Evidence for their value and relevance for research communication must therefore be presented in the narrative.
Keynote lectures and invited lectures may also be a mark of recognition and may therefore also fall under the category Marks of recognition from peers.
Usefulness
This indicator can be operationalised using various criteria to demonstrate – with arguments – the importance of the products. The criteria are:
- peer-reviewed/non-peer-reviewed
- scientific or scholarly significance/reputation of the conference
