Description

This indicator covers outputs and activities that cannot be categorised using the defined indicators, provided they are based on research and have been produced or carried out by one or more researchers and are regarded as being important for communication with researchers who are not affiliated with the programme under assessment.

 

Explanation

This indicator covers activities and products that are incidental in nature, for example, or that manifest themselves in a wide variety of different forms. The latter would include workshops and master classes.

 

Usefulness

This indicator can be operationalised using various criteria to demonstrate – with arguments – the importance of the products. The criteria are:

  • innovative nature
  • context in which activities take place or products are generated
  • complexity
  • reach/applicability
  • role of research unit and/or researchers in producing the output
