This indicator pertains to cooperation between the academic world and societal groups, and more specifically the interactions between them, which has led to reports, books, websites, educational methods, interventions and so on or to the use of knowledge in the form of advisory reports and support.
Provided that documentation is adequate, this is a useful indicator group. It will seldom provide a complete picture, however. Criteria that may be helpful in designing this indicator are:
- scope, duration and intensity of cooperation
- interaction and actual and demonstrable use of research products
